I just read it on TPW.

I figured it was cancer, but it didn't say. Damn. In the past year or so we lost Harry Browne (LP), Bill Shearer (CP), and now Russo (LP).

With Browne and Russo gone, it would appear that Paul is now the torchbearer of the libertarian movement. RIP.

I'm really sad that he's dead. He actually had the guts to face the IRS, government and establishment in the name of freedom. A real freedom fighter who's already missed. By the way, didn't the Emmys show him among the list of famous people that died this year? I didn't get that. Thanks Aaron for your service to the US and you'll be remembered. RIP Sad

Even though I did not agree with his views, at least he was an honest man RIP

Russo died of bladder cancer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California on August 24, 2007, at age 64,[5][6] following a six year battle with the disease.[7] Russo said his goal was to "try and get the word out to the public about what's happening to America -- and give them an opportunity to try to change things." For an epitaph on his headstone after his death, he told the Las Vegas Sun (November 4, 1999), "I want it to say, 'Freedom Fighter.' "
