So if Santorum wins, how much $ does Team Mittens spend burying him in negative ads in Michigan?

Oh, millions I'm sure. Luckily Santorum's failings are much less terrible than Newt's.

Yep losing reelection by 19 points is only slightly less terrible than Gingrich's faults.

I love the very subtle expansion of Santorum's margin of defeat. It's done so cleverly. Next week, he will have been defeated by 25 points.

If Santorum pulls it off tonight he won't be able to blink starting tomorrow without seeing negative attacks. I pity him in that regard, he'll never stand a chance.

Definitely try to turn off the base even more than before. Very wise strategy.

Mitt Romney is doomed if he's the nominee.

What will he be attacked with?

Everything + the kitchen sink. Team Rmoney have proven that they are more than willing to lie and distort to get their way.

I love this game.

He's one of the rare cases where both are true*, particularly in today's political climate.  Hence, "Big Government Conservative".

* - He's not "left wing" but his record is far to the left of the Tea Party on spending, unions, etc.  Probably a touch unfair - hard for me to knock a guy for voting in concert with his electorate - but it'll be used against him just the same.

Voted for most free trade agreements, pushed partial privatization of Social Security, responsible for the major welfare reform of the 1990s and he's economically left wing. Ok.

I definitely wouldn't say that.  He just places special emphasis on social issues.

Actually, no, he didn't support the bailouts so that's a blatant lie. Wow. And how is supporting Specter "economically left wing?"

Against Pat Toomey? You really think Pat Toomey was the liberal in that primary?

On his record, well,

Bailout of steel industry:
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=106&session=1&vote=00176
Voted to allow gas tax revenues to be used to subsidize Amtrak:
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=106&session=2&vote=00130
From here, I'll stop sourcing (it gets messy if I do), but I can provide the specific vote on request

Voted to increase taxes by $9.4 billion
Voted twice for a Congressional payraise.
Voted against National Right to Work Act
Voted for taxpayer funding of the National Endowment for the Arts.
Voted against a 10% cut in the budget for National Endowment for the Arts.
Voted to increase tobacco taxes (four separate times no less)
Voted against repealing the Clinton 4.3 cent gas tax increase.
Voted against food stamp reform
Voted against Medicaid reform
Voted for a $2 million earmark to renovate the Vulcan Monument (AL)
Voted to allow states to impose health care mandates that are stricter than proposed new Federal mandates, but not weaker.
etc

What does it make him then? Since Arlen Specter hasn't been much of a "STRONG CONSERVATIVE".

Yes, his distinctly economically left wing votes don't matter, only the two votes he conveniently missed by being ejected out of office in a landslide. He didn't have a word to say about TARP until long after it had passed and it was clear it wasn't supported by anyone, whereupon he starting saying "I didn't support TARP!" as if he had personally stood against its passage rather than pulling a Romney.

These examples are truly breath taking! Voted against food stamp reform, eh? Definitely a leftist! I mean, forget the fact that he was at the forefront of reforming welfare in 1995...

IMO, lots of shared blame to go around during the Bush era.  Hard for me to call out Santorum specifically as every goddamned person was involved in the Big Government feeding frenzy back then.

Well, except one guy.

Now, Romney will try to become the tea party candidate to win more states than Santorum Tongue
