in my opinion, the Moderators are cloaking their defense of the inherently totalitarian (modern father-figure) action of banning Teddy in the postmodern "it is for the poor boy's own good, we have his best interests at heart" language.  however unlike in the case of Zizek's postmodern father-figure, Teddy has been given no choice; it is not "we will let you post if you would like, we will let you decide, but it would be much better for you if you did not"; not that at all!  he is prohibited indefinitely from posting, and therein lies the contradiction.

It is true my opinion hasn't changed,  but this sad affair has revealed him to be a grass or a squealer, or a rat if you will.  Who would tell someone else if they received a death threat in a chat-chat?

I don't either.  This has gotten so out of hand.  All moderators are Nazis, and everyone knows that.  But whether Joe is any more or less authoritarian than any of the others doesn't seem relevant to the question, and it's not like it's impossible to be a Nazi and not be a "horrible person."  Hell, Oscar Schindler, who was a lecher, an exploiter of child labor, a card-carrying member of the NSDAP, and a war profiteer, has a tree planted for him on Jerusalem's Avenue of the Righteous, for Christ's sake.  They even made a movie about him.

We have log accepted the validity of The Ban.  I abhor it, but then I also abhor the fact that we criminalize prostitution and marijuana.  At some point you accept democracy, with all its warts.  This forum has a number of moderators, who act as legislators.  They're all a bit fascist, just as our real legislators in real life are.  Unless you are willing to run for that thankless office, then don't judge them.  And frankly, once you win, you become a Nazi as well.  It's inevitable.  Joe is no worse than the rest of them, and no better.

Get over yourselves, get a life, and quit making these stupid "opinion of" threads.  I'll drink to Joe, and to the rest of 'em.  Cheers.
