Don't you need to win five states to be allowed to seat your delegates at the national convention? I remember reading something like that.

Never heard anything like that and I follow these things pretty close. FWIW in 2008 Paul got 15 votes at the convention and he didn't win any states.

Of course, in reality it really doesn't matter. He isn't going to drop out anytime soon, and when he does he'll just end up endorsing Johnson, or staying out of it.

His performance has fallen well below expectations... I figured he could have won the GOP nomination months ago. If he won Iowa he couldve gotten closer to Romney in NH- who knows

No.  He's not running just to win, so a failure to win isn't the same as a total failure of his campaign.
