I haven't been following this.  Where are we going next in terms of referenda?  Who's going to do this in 2014?  Oregon?  Rhode Island?  Vermont?

Alaska's a bizarre state, but one where I think this could very possibly pass even in an August primary offyear election.  Say what you will about the sort of off-kilter kooks who show up to an off-year primary election in Alaska, they probably don't much favor Uncle Sam telling them what they can and can't do.

Michigan in 2016?  That's kind of a surprise to me.  What are its prospects?

It's very difficult to get a referendum on the ballot in Texas.

If they did and put it on a general election year, it might well pass.  If they did it in 2015 or so (when the only people voting are obsessed old cranks) absolutely not.

Looks like Oregon, Alaska, and Washington DC are going to be the targets for 2014.

Not sure if this is the thread for this:

New York Times Editorial Board endorses legalizing marijuana.

So...what states are going to have 2016 referenda? I know Nevada, Maine, Massachusetts, and California are likely to go for it. I've heard that Arkansas (LOL), Michigan, and Arizona are other likely candidates for a 2016 referenda.

Ten companies in Ohio are collecting signatures for a ballot measure there that would legalize marijuana...sold by those ten companies. This official state weed monopoly measure will be interesting.
