A helluva lot for Australia-$1 billion given to Indonesia alone allows us a bit of muscle over teir own internal policy. Altogether giving them over $6.8 billion in 5 years gives us really quite significant leeway.

Might not be pleasant, but it is perfectly true, and I don't really mind. Not only are we helping, we've also been given an opportunity to help prevent the world's largest islamic country becoming fundamentalist.

What does the tusnami have to do with foreign policy?

Foreign policy is more that what we say to each other. In Europe the earthquake that happened in Turkey in 1999 has changed the relationship between Turkey and Greese, who have nearly gone to war with each other several time in the last couple of decades, and has lead to Turkey been given a date, which Greese would have vetoed, to start accession talks with the European Union.

It will slightly change the population of SE asia i predict

yes that was a very flippent comment to a valid question.
