If nobody declares and nobody accepts write-in votes, does the Senate proceed without a Senator?

My guess is someone would be appointed by the Governor.

That occurred to me, but if nobody declared and nobody accepted write-ins, it doesn't seem likely the governor (do they even have a governor?) could find somebody to appoint.

Is ilikeverin not running for reelection?

I think he's weighing whether he wants to stay in the Senate or try and fix the Midwest.

He said he didn't want another term and (I think) stepped down.

So the Lieutenant Governor is presumably the Governor, now?  If not, then a special election must be held ASAP.

EDIT: According to the Midwest Constitution:

Though I'm not sure where he said he's stepping down...

In the Althing thread, they were asking for new people to be Prime Verin/Deputy Verin; nobody ever won the election or swore in.

I'm still governor

Sorry I thought your term was up and no one got elected. What a confusing system! Tongue

I guess the incumbent governor (even if he isn't running for re-election) remains as governor until someone else swears in?

I'm doing a whole lot better than I expected I would do. I got a 4th and 5th preference for Veep; by my numbers, that's 200% better than anticipated.

This; things would either explode or fall apart (or both) if you left your job, so thanks for your service.

HOMELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Y U got me listed on Indy on the ballot?

I apologize for the oversight, but at least you can take heart in the fact that it didn't hurt your electoral chances this past weekend. Remind me, what percentage of the vote did you get? Grin

I believe it was 1961-Haitian-presidential-referendum-type percentages Tongue 1,320,748 in favor, 0 opposed.

Could I get mine as "SJoyceFla"? It seems a bit more professional.

I, SJoyceFla, do hereby request to obtain a ballot for the purpose of voting absentee in the Federal Election of February 2012. I understand that if I choose to vote absentee,

1. my absentee vote will be nullified if I post more than 5 times anywhere on the Atlas Forum in the regular election period;
2. my absentee vote will be nullified if I vote again by regular ballot;
3. my absentee vote will be nullified if I do not receive authorization to vote absentee by the Secretary of Federal Elections; and
4. I may vote again by regular ballot if my vote is nullified.
