Does Ron Paul have the momentum needed to win the March 3rd Washing Caucus?

I don't think the WA-GOP would be amused.

Probably not. But does it really matter?

He can, but he won't.

Given that he won last time, sure.  Of course, McCain "won," so he probably can't "win."

I thought Huckabee won while McCain "won".

The results will probably be similar to Minnesota's caucus results.

It was essentially a three-way tie when they stopped the vote count about midway through.  They were counting all the strong McCain areas first and then all the strong Huckabee areas.

PPP's first night of polling here had Santorum +9 over Romney, so I'd not say the prospects are that great, especially considering the 2008 "results" -- but who knows, it's a caucus.

Nobody will never know who really won, but I have a hunch that it might have actually been Paul. A Huckabee victory wouldn't have been that embarrassing, but a Paul victory would have.

If Ron Paul and his supporters are smart, they won't build expectations of a win in Washington. A strong second would be a very credible finish for him, and plenty of reason to keep campaigning; building up expectations of victory, and then not actually winning, never looks good. See Maine, where even if the state Republican party ever counts the votes properly, and even if Paul ended up winning as a result, he'd have looked a hell of a lot stronger if his supporters hadn't built up his chances so heavily over the previous day or so.

Yes. He won it in 2008 but the establishment gave it to McShame. Much like they have done with Maine and Iowa right now. We know there's voter fraud going on.

I've given up on the idea of him winning anything (or at least them letting him win anything).

He's certainly not winning any primary state where "they" have no influence.

It's not impossible, but it's seeming increasingly unlikely.

Nah, his base might be really committed (especially in eastern Washington) but they still make up a really small fraction of the party. Romney could come in third but my bet is that Santorum has Washington locked up at this point.

No.  I wanted him to at least win one state.

I think his big chance to make a real splash was by winning Iowa, and it didn't work out.

Alaska or Hawaii are more likely than Washington.

He lost Iowa, he lost Maine (the recount is showing even stronger results for Romney) he was trounced in Minnesota, he did very poorly in Colorado despite that being one of the first states with and HQ and staff from the fall of 2011. It's done, Paul can't win a state now outside the possibility of Alaska or North Dakota in which he has to heavily campaign. Montana is a primary now right? So I don't think he can pull that one off.

I was thinking Maine.  I didn't care if he made a big splash... I just thought it'd be cool to see 4 people win a state, which hasn't happened since 1968.
