What's the difference between a limousine and latte liberal?

My view:
limousine liberal - lives in an upper east side penthouse and works at a financial firm
latte liberal - is a teacher or doctor that lives in boulder or mercer island.

Latte liberals are basically the environmentalist/outdoorsy types that read Mother Jones and eat granola. Limousine liberals are the upper crust of society.

So basically the Limousine liberals live in NYC and DC while Latte Liberals live in other metro areas?
I think you guys are mostly on the money, except that the 1% is Torie.

Eh, not really what I was getting at. Latte liberals are crunchy and upper-middle class. Limousine liberals are at the upper echelon and are millionaires.

I invented this definition myself but it works and in my view there's a clear dividing line between these two stereotypes.

The 1%   Wonkish1

Latte Liberal  usually this would imply the coasts or at least urban, right?  but Marokai keeps shooting into my mind in terms of his positions and logical reasoning and etc. jfern also.

Neoconservative   John D. Ford, though he's gone now.

Tea Partier

Uncle Tom  I guess Simfan is the only black poster, right?  and Storebought is/was.  but I'm not into hurling epithets at black people, for a number of reasons, some pragmatic, others idealistic.

Moderate Hero  the original, benconstine.  he continues to be a living embodiment.

Limousine Liberal

Hipster

Elitist Academic  ag, though he isn't very elitist, but he is one of the two academics I know of here, the other being Al, who is not elitist at all, except possibly by virtue of being a kneejerk anti-elitist.

The 99%  jfern

White Working Class  Al?  how many posters here are of working class origin?  we seem to have a strong middle- and upper-middle class self-filtering mechanism at work

Country club Republican  Torie

Swing voter  angus, Torie

Christian Conservative   jmfcst but he is atypical in a lot of ways (largely deriving from what is probably above-average intelligence)
South Park Republican

Swing voter - Angus
Christian Conservative - Jmfcst
South Park Republican - Dallasfan, I guess, but isn't really a Republican

I don't belong to a country club, and don't like to golf. Next!  Tongue

Yes, I knew as soon as I saw the category, that I would win the category going away with you guys. But then who else here can afford to belong to a country club (Dukie isn't a lawyer yet)?  So maybe I'm the default option. Smiley

Oh, and Tweed, Muon2 is a physics professor at Northern Illinois University, and rather than having a train set in his garage, plays with the super-collider at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.  And he has an "elite" brain. Smiley  Gustaf is a lecturer in economics.

I wouldn't say I am a neocon considering I oppose war unless necessary. I certainly don't favor invading Iran or anything crazy like that. I do favor a strong national defense while streamlining and reducing military expenditures, so if that is the definition we are now using, I guess I am a neocon. Tongue

Well I meant that there are lots of really rich liberals(basically just buy baller sh**t) in DC and NYC compared to other metros, where they are just rich/upper-middle class(enough to have a second home, but not enough to spend money frivolously everyday).

I'm still a registered and active Republican (though not too comfortable when I attend local meetings.) I do love my South Park as well!

I gotta find a niche so I can represent a group.

Neoconservative. Tongue

Tea Partier isn't really your style. I'd pick Sanchez or BSB for that.

Teenagers aren't usually reactionary though, because they don't have much to react too. Sorry. Maybe in 10 years.

Stupid comments made by teachers? I have to react to that every day.
