Uh, oh! Someone wants to be Mitt's VP.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/a-simple-solution-to-inequality-stop-talking-about-it/2012/02/22/gIQAl1nNTR_blog.html

Travis Waldron catches Brave Truth Teller Chris Christie in a remarkable moment: He’s so visibly annoyed with Warren Buffett for pushing issues of economic and tax fairness to the forefront of the national conversation that he literally tells Buffett to “shut up”.

Here’s the exchange, with CNN’s Piers Morgan:

MORGAN: You know where I’m going at with that. Warren Buffett keeps screaming to be taxed more.

CHRISTIE: Yeah, well he should just write a check and shut up. Really. And just contribute. The fact of the matter is that I’m tired of hearing about it. If he wants to give the government more money, he’s got the ability to write a check. Go ahead and write it.

...

By the way, the “just shut up” response to inequality is not exclusive to Christie. As you’ll recall, the GOP’s likely standard-bearer, Mitt Romney, recently opined that we should confine our discussion of these matters to "quiet rooms.”

Maybe it’s time to inaugurate the “just shut up” caucus?

That's the only language that gets through to Warren Buffett.

It's really hilarious how Republicans think this guy is some super electable terrific presidential candidate. If he ever does win the nomination, he's going to crash and burn spectacularly. No one wants a fat, angry jerk as their president.

A debate with him would be funny. He would tell his opponent to shut up everytime he doesn't agree with him.

He values democracy and debate, as we can see.

It's not Christie's fault; the guy's name reminds him of all-you-can-eat food.

Is there anyone this curmudgeon doesn't hate?  Between his bigotry towards gays and his indifference to poverty, there is spite oozing out of his every orifice.

Christie wouldn't take the VP spot if it was offered to him.

Christie needs to shut the f up. Instead of trying to protect the rich, he should try helping out people who really could use him sticking up for them, like gays. But he's a disgusting guy with no balls who wants to be president. I hope he never makes it. Cuomo is much better and is fairly tough on the unions as well.

Hey, cut the guy some slack. Even if he had balls, how the heck would he know it?

Hey, lay off the personal attacks.  Christie might be fat, but at least he opposes equality and civil rights.

For God's sake... "Shut up" isn't an order and doesn't have to be obeyed. My view of it is "I'm sick of hearing this rat bastard talk", and that perfectly expresses how I feel. Did he send out the National Guard to take down Buffet? Does Buffet have to shut up? No, and Christie has just as much a right to express his feelings about Buffet as Buffet does about taxes.

You're quite mistaken, we are all thoroughly muzzled.  You can tell by the fact that no one is calling for both Cris Cristy and Warren Buffet to be guillotined.

No, I'm all for Warren Buffett's right to free speech, I just don't agree with his views.

As Cathcon said, it is not to be taken literally.

Cutting Medicaid for poors is okay, but raising the top tax rate from 36% to 39%? Blasphemy!

Yes Buffet should shut up. He has enough money to pay someone to talk for him. Perhaps he can give a raise to his secretary who always gets talked about. I mean, honestly, how much bitching can one person hear from a man who has more money than God but won't stop screaming about how good he is at cheating at taxes. Buffet is as annoying as that guy at the Elks Club who is a dentist and constantly has to complain about his 23-year old trophy wife and how is yacht always smells like fish. You have that stuff so enjoy it and stop harping on it. I wish I had a trophy wife and a yacht but I make less than $42,000 a year and deal with a lot more crap than the dentist. Warren Buffet is that dentist at the Elks Club.

I applaud Governor Christie for saying what so many people have been thinking. Buffet pay more taxes or don't, but stop bragging about how good you are at cheating the system. God, that silly Wizard of Oz should be arrested for cheating taxes and also being an self-serving, pompous charlatan who Rachael Maddow  won't stop talking about. That last crime alone deserves the death penalty.
