Not terribly surprising, IMO. Though anything more than a 2 or 3 point lead is a stretch for me to believe at this point.

This flies in the face of the right wing CW that Democrats and minorities are not enthusiastic and will not vote in the same numbers as 2008.

PPP says Obama has a "decent lead" in Virginia, similar to his leads in their past polls of the state.

last two PPP polls in VA
PPP (D)   8/16 - 8/19   LV    Obama +5
PPP (D)   7/5 - 7/8  RV Obama +8

My prediction is Obama +3 or 4

PPP is in the field with another Wisconsin poll for some reason?

The most recent WI poll was a private poll that paid PPP to poll there. This one coming out is the "real" one.

I'm very interested to see any and all post-47% polling. That story didn't really blow up until today though.

If PPP isnt throwing down tweets on CO and FL, I suspect these may turn out allright for Romney.

PPP's latest tweet from 1 hour ago suggests this is true.

Probably Obama up by 1 or 2 in Florida and 2 or 3 in Colorado. Not really numbers that are newsworthy and more in line with most polls in these states. But with PPP they are positive for Romney.

"Our Ohio poll tonight is going to be good news for Mitt Romney, at least on the curve of all these polls showing him down 8-10 there"

So... Obama up 3-5%?

(which is what I think the result will be in OH)

If I remember correctly the last PPP poll from OH was Obama +5

From about an hour ago.

Ohio looks pretty darn close on the first night of our poll there. We'll do more calls tomorrow and have results in the evening

When we release the Ohio poll tomorrow there will be a breakdown of people who've already voted vs. have yet to vote

Considering Romney has been virtually living there and the $38 million anti-Obama ad blitz... if it wasn't tight.. I'd be mighty surprised

The last PPP OH poll was only Obama+4 when NBC, CBS, FOX WAPO were in the Obama +8-10 range. I wouldn't be surprised if their poll showed a small Romney lead or a tie.

Yeah, this. The automated/non-cell phone poll vs. traditional/cell phone-included poll division has been especially stark in Ohio for whatever reason.

I'd be happy with Obama +1 from them.
