The Republican governor of Maine, Paul LePage, has become the first prominent Republican to say openly he wants a new candidate.  He tells Politico he feels the current candidates have damaged themselves too much in this process and he's pushing for a floor fight at the convention.

It's one thing for insiders and Senators to talk off the record about wanting a new candidate, but it's striking for a Republican governor to say so on the record.  If you watch his comments, it's clear he's put off by the social issues talk and it also clear he's very much in favor of a new candidate.  He wasn't joking.

Yes, I can only wonder whom Governor Paul LePage wants as the new candidate for the highest office in the land. One can only wonder whom Governor Paul LePage believes could be the right candidate for the Republicans. It is really a stumper. Of whom might Governor Paul LePage be thinking of to be the new candidate? Hmm......

I assume you believe LePage wants Paul as the nominee, but, if so, why did he say he wants a fresh face?  That implies he doesn't want Paul.

As a person from New England, that is absolutely hilarious.

Honest question.  Could he be any less appealing than the current guys?  I don't know.

Yes, nominate this d-lister as a compromise candidate Republicans. The only person in America who could be more gaffe-prone than Mitt Romney.
