No sure how reliable Middle Tennessee State University is....

But Santorum definitely has a lead over Romney. I doubt Romney will win the state.

Kind of funny- anecdotally, you'd think TN is a perfect state for Santorum, but the GOP (and actually Dems, too) here really tends to nominate very rich, comparatively moderate guys. Gov. Haslam is a lot like Romney. Corker in his first race was clearly the moderate running against two more Tea Party types. Alexander beame rich after his first round of politics, but he fits the same relatively moderate, patrician kind of Republican. Rich boy Frist and Thompson, too, though Thompson was really good at being more populist, but was ultimately a moderate lobbyist. If asked, they'd take a conservative stance on social issues, but don't really initiate that kind of rhetoric (maybe Frist an exception).

Of course none of them are Mormons or from Michigan Massachusetts.

Well, it is a uni poll.  But if this poll has any truth to it, then I think Newt's finished after next week.  If he can't win the South, what can he win?

If Gingrich doesn't win here, where can he win (apart from GA) ?
If he loses TN, he's definitely done (I mean, he's already done, but, there, he'd be unable to bounce again for later, like in TX).

And the, Mitt will make all he can to "save" Newt long enough to weaken Rick Grin
This GOP primary cycle is built out of a series of ironies Tongue
