I figured that with many major films on the way, I'd bring this back. Let's start fresh though so we can hopefully attract some new players. Firstly, let's acknowledge that BRTD (9 points) came out on top the last time we did this with benconstine (7 points) in a strong second. *Round of applause.*

Here are the rules:

Rowdy Rathore (Predictions due May 25th)

Official Scoreboard:

Eraserhead: 5

Also, I'd like to note that Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar movie opens in theaters today!

And currently sitting at 42% on RT. Considering how few people actually get Tim & Eric, that really isn't too bad. Also it's just kind of awesome that Roger Ebert had to sit through something Tim & Eric did.

I'm sure it'll end up dropping quite a bit (early reviews tend to be more favorable) but wow... I guess this isn't the next Twilight in terms of quality. I may have to actually check this out now.

Reviews for this are trickling in very slowly atm. Still at 100% with 16 though. It also has an excellent 8.3 average rating (for now).

New movies have been added.

My guesses:

Wrath of the Titans 22%

Mirror Mirror 26%

In other news, reviews for The Hunger Games are pouring in now and it's still at 91%!

There is a lot of speculation about it possibly having one of the biggest opening weekends ever too. A 120+ million opening weekend would be insane for a non-sequel but it seems like a possibility.

That would make it the highest opening weekend ever for a non-sequel. The current record holder is the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland at $116 million.

Indeed. Plus in that case it was an adaptation of a story everyone and their grandmother had known about forever. It also had Johnny Depp as its star.

Wow, Hunger Games is looking like a box office beast.

Don't forget to get your guesses in for Mirror Mirror and Wrath of the Titans.

American Reunion 42%

This is surprising...

Granted I am not the target demographic at all, but the trailer was sooooo awful.

To switch things up a little, I actually ignored all of the major releases for the round I just put up and instead just selected one limited release. All of the major releases that week look incredibly boring anyway but if anyone has a big problem with this, let me know.

Time for more points to be awarded.

Now for Wrath of the Titans, just about everyone came very close but I'm giving points to BRTD and myself because we both guessed 22% and the actual score was 23%.

For Mirror Mirror, Holmes gets his second point for pretty much nailing it with a guess of 51%. The actual was 49%.

Shout out to Snowstalker for coming painfully close on both but getting narrowly edged out on both this time.

Also, I added a new movie for us to predict.

Also, I'm a little late on this but the domestic box office wasn't too interesting last week. The Hunger Games had a decently big (although not really unexpected) drop but still lead easily thanks to Wrath having a much weaker debut than its predecessor and Mirror Mirror basically flopping.

http://boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3406&p=.htm

Mirror Mirror is a kids movie though so maybe it'll have decent legs.

The Hunger Games gets a third weekend on top thanks to a somewhat better than expected drop and people no longer really caring about the American Pie series.

Time for new points to be awarded:

Cabin In The Woods

Actual score: 92%

Closest guess: Eraserhead with 86% (Holmes guessed 86% as well but missed the due date.)

Lockout

Actual score: 34%

Closest guess: benconstine with 36%

The Three Stooges

Actual score: 46%

Closest guess: Eraserhead with 48%

So two points for me and one point for ben will be added to the board on the the first post.

The box office was pretty boring last weekend. The Hunger Games managed to stay on top for a fourth weekend in a row thanks to another nice drop and more lackluster competition.

Time for a new point to be awarded. Everyone was pretty far off when it came to The Moth Diaries (looked like it might be decent to me) but King came closest with 49%. The actual score was 14%. He gets a point added to the scoreboard.

The Avengers and The Best Marigold Hotel will be up for everyone to guess on until midnight. I'll also be adding new movies for people to guess on though.
