Only place of signifigance I've been to in the US is perhaps the Hershey Chocolate factory. I've only been to the US a few times (despite living 1 hr from the border, much like the average Canadian). I have yet to go to any major city, unless Buffalo or Rochester, NY count.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.  This thread was just to get a list of potential winners to be placed in a future poll I will create once I get that list.  So just add any places you think might make the cut or confirm other peoples nominations.  At this point the following places are "in"...
White House
Capitol
O'Hare
LaGuardia
LAX
JFK
Reagan National Airport
Heathrow

maybe the Liberty Bell (which probably should be Independence Hall...but Liberty Bell is a lot easier to type)

I'd like to get to 10ish.

Probably should add in Atlanta Hartsfield, though I have never been there. Perhaps the statue of liberty? Yosemite or Yellowstone? I'll throw in Universal Studios, Disneyland and the Golden Gate bridge as well.

If you haven't had a layover in Atlanta, you don't know anything about politics.

Of what's listed, I've been to:

US Capitol
Heathrow
Reagan National Airport
Louvre
Eiffel Tower
National Mall
ATL- Hartsfield-Jackson Intl

other places I've been that might be fairly common:
French Quarter, New Orleans
Faneuil Hall, Boston
Panama City Beach, or Destin, Florida

If you haven't had a layover in Atlanta, you don't know anything about politics.

I've never had a layover in Atlanta; my flights always start or end there Tongue (with the convenience of having direct flights available virtually everywhere, too!)

Doubtful; though you Southerners might go there a lot, Northerners would be more familiar with peninsular Florida.  In fact, though somewhere in Orlando is a very likely candidate for the place that the most Atlasians have been to, Orlando is probably the only candidate location in the peninsula because Northerners would further be divided into Gulf Coast and Atlantic contingents.

That said, my family did do a vacation in Destin once, and it was wonderful Smiley

National Mall? Smithsonian (History or Air-Space)? Lincoln Memorial? Mt. Vernon?
I'll second these and add the Gateway Arch, which I would guess a significant number of our posters have at least driven by.  Perhaps the Golden Gate Bridge also?

And I guess I should mention that of the places listed I have been to all but the white house, la guardia and Reagan national. I have been to Lax too many times unfortunately. That place is an ugly, yet flashy, mess.
