From 1952 to 1992, Republicans held the Presidency for for 26 out of 40 years, but only held control of the House once(from 1953 to 1955).  Starting in 1992, Democrats have held the White House for 12 out of 20 years and only held control of Congress for six out of those years. 

With Obama and the DNC basically deciding that they are not going to focus on Congressional races, are the Democrats becoming the same "win the White House, but lose everything else under the sun" party that Republicans were from 1952 to 1992?

I don't think it's possible to hold the White House for 26 years in a 40-year period starting and ending with an election year.
