Statement on the Recent Initiative Launched by the Attorney General

The Department of External Affairs is strongly opposed to the recent move by Attorney General Fuzzybigfoot to record the license plate numbers of all Muslims currently residing in Atlasia. The Department finds this action to be unnecessary, illogical, and detrimental to the relations of the Atlasian government with the Islamic community both here and abroad. In particular, the Department finds important allies such as Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia will be less likely to trust and work with Atlasia due to the Attorney General's actions, casting doubt as they do upon the loyalty and trustworthiness of Muslims. The Department of External Affairs would like to remind the Atlasian populace and the international community that they are not supportive of this action, and that the actions of the Attorney General do not necessarily correlate with our ability to co-operate with other nations. We hope that Atlasia can continue to work with Islamic nations such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan in order to constrain Iran, despite this incident.

Figured I should post this here too.

In more serious news, The Atlasian Mountaintop Removal Ban Act, Atlasian Arts Advocation Act of 2012, and the Corporate Governance Reform Acts have all been logged in the wiki.

I assure you, I am not a crook and I did not have sexual relations with that woman. The DoEA is seriously concerned if being a Muslim is considered a crime... That may alienate some countries...

On an unrelated Justice-related note, is there any sort of functional Supreme Court?

As soon as it get's set up, we may just have fried Fuzzy to celebrate the start of our first oversight committee. Evil

But I'm an endangered species!

Executive order from the Office of the Attorney General, Fuzzybigfoot:

This administration charges the Imperial Region with breaking Second Clause of Section 7, Article 1 of Atlasia's third constitution by creating a regional curency (the "Dibble") under the Second Section of the Trojan Act

Due to said violations, Federal Agents will seize control of all exchange places listed in the Trojan Act (including the Imperial Capital of Memphis and all other state capitals in the Southern region) and cease the exchange and distribution of "Dibbles" to all Southern citizens.

Stand by for an impending lawsuit against the Imperial South.

Mr. Attorney General, a question from a concerned citizen of the IDS:

If the Supreme Court does indeed find the IDS in violation of the Constitution, what is the impact on the average citizen of that region, particularly if they own a good amount of Dibbles? Does their money suddenly become worthless? Do you require it to be exchanged for Atlasian dollars? Melted down into its original gold state?

We'd probably try to redistribute the dollars that were originally exchanged for the Dibbles, in order to ensure economic accountability in the South.  But we have a little while until the court comes to a decision, so we'll continue to ponder all our options.
