Just a random bit of silliness I came up with after realizing that it was actually, amazingly, OK because they're from different states.

A perfect way to guarantee that I wouldn't vote for the Republican ticket.

This would be an interesting ticket, because obviously they'd get murdered Goldwater-style (they might do better in EVs but could also do a fair bit worse in popular vote percent) but it would sort of be a statement that the Pauls have taken over the GOP and they don't care about the old base. It could cause a realignment.

A huge landslide for Obama on election night, but the ninja delegates manage to work their way into the electoral college, thus winning the election for the Pauls.

WAIT.

How are the Republican electoral college electors chosen? Are they chosen at state conventions?!

COULD WE ALL BE MISSING THE RON PAUL NINJA DELEGATE LONG-GAME?

It's theoretically a possibility in some states. Faithless electors aren't an unheard of thing.

It appears many of the caucus states also don't have faithless elector laws: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithless_elector

I like this comment:

Obviously it could never work unless there were widespread infiltration of the Democratic Party too but hopefully we'll see a few faithless electors for Paul.

The Ron Paul movement is officially the greatest thing to happen to American politics ever.

It is, indeed, often the same State Conventions that Paulistas try to infiltrate that pick the electors---though are the Paulistas even putting up an effort in states where the local party decides no delegates?

Of course, in the astronomically unlikely event Paul gets elected President by entryism, he (and his VP) is presumably impeached, removed, and out on his ass by the end of January.

It's much more sporadic, but to some extent yes.

The Ron Paul movement is officially the greatest thing to happen to American politics ever.

Agreed, definitely.

To be fair, it would serve the US just right for sticking with the weird creature known as the 'electoral college'.

Paul/Paul, but the nepotism makes it closer than it otherwise would be.

We, all of us, as a people, led by the Grand Army of the Repaulbic, will surely avenge Samuel Tilden.
