This is interesting for a couple of reasons.  First, while one might expect for Gillibrand to encourage her mentor/role model to run, there has also been some speculation about Gillibrand's own 2016 plans.  Second, such a high-ranking politician speaking out in favor of Hillary looks like a slight to Gillibrand's home state governor, Andrew Cuomo.  Finally, it suggests that at least one Clinton insider (Gillibrand) is not entirely convinced by Hillary's 2016 denials.

What? Seriously? Clinton will be a bit of a has-been by 2016. She'll be too connected with Obama (for better or worse), and she doesn't have the energy of a few other candidates at that age. Plus, don't we need a new generation of politicians?

Clinton would be younger then Biden, Kerry, McCain, Dole and ofcourse Reagan if she were to run in 2016. Bill Clintons answers as to her plans have been anything but firm as well. Many believe she will take some time off if Obama is reelected and stage a comeback in late 2015. Come on these are the Clintons we are talking about and even if there is a remote shot they will go for it.

I think she still has a chance. I wouldn't vote for her though Tongue I dislike her lol.

Although, Cuomo in 2016 vs a Pres. Romney would also make me a swing voter...

Gosh...my first Presidential vote could be for a  NY democrat :S (My 18th birthday is after election day 2012)

I'm depressed now...
