Why did Kerrey run?

What's sad is, this has potential to even be a bigger win for Republicans, as many still remain undecided on them, so they have room to grow. Kerrey doesn't, really.

This is going to narrow, but there's no chance in Hell Kerrey wins, frankly.

PPP point out that, hilariously, Nelson would only have trailed by 4.

Well yes but they could of not given it as an option. And for some stupid reason the mods/frontpagers or whatever you call the guys at the front page of DKE pushed for the readers to vote for NE. Despite the fact that Kerrey sucks and it was fairly obvious that even a Ras poll of this one wasn't going to be 24points off or however many it was

Winning any statewide race in Nebraska this year is probably out of reach for any Democrat.

Perhaps he ran knowing that he was the only Dem who had even a remote shot of holding the seat, and so he felt obligated to step in and be a good Democrat.

You know, the "nice guy conspiracy" idea.

I think that was because he wanted to help Obama to get at least one electoral vote in Nebraska.

This is not going to happen.  CD-2 was redrawn so that the most strongly Republican parts of Sarpy County are connected to the Douglas County dominated CD.  With the new boundaries, Omaha would have lost CD-2 in 2008.

Wrong.

He's right with his first claim, not that it will matter because that single EV would never be a deciding factor and it doesn't even offer the benefit of a House pick up downballot.
Still, go Kerrey! He can break 40%.

So, it quite unlikely that Kerrey will win, but you have to give him points for having the balls to come out for gay marriage when he's running in a statewide election in Nebraska.
