Ryan's warming up the crowd for Romney right now- and Romney's about to take the stage.

Rick surprisingly is making a good run for WI-08 with a lot of votes in. So he may get 9 delegates rather than 6. Boo!  I was confident about this one, with this kind of margin statewide for Mittens.

Anyone else find it odd that Santorum referred to Hessians in his speech... Really... Hessians?

Lot of Germans in PA.

...

You think that's why Rick mentioned them? Really, J.J.? This is getting painful now...

Mittens looks like he's not only one all three states, but he swept the MD CD's.  In terms of delegates it looks like he will increase his lead over Rick by at least 65 delegates, but it might be as high as 80:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB1kp9adYYE&feature=related

Of course.  His whole speech was:  Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania.  He's trying to make a stand.

Rick seems to be winning WI-8 pretty handily and that was not one of the two CDs he was supposed to win.

If it means anything Santorum swept the heavily German parts of Ohio even winning urban Lucas County (Toledo).

I liked the last bit of Romney's speech I heard. Loved them playing the Wisconsin fight song at the end - that may have won my Mom over if there was any doubt before. Wink

A number of them were not our enemies.  There is a fair large German ancestry in PA.  Santorum needs to win in PA, and he's pulling out all the stops.  He might do it in the beauty contest too.

Yes, J.J., I have a brain and am aware of Pennsylvania's strong German population. I'm questioning the absolutely ridiculous idea that he mentioned Hessians - primarily our enemy - to win votes. You really are getting ridiculous now.

Huntsman is getting 7% in DC - a whopping 154 votes.  Paul leads Gingrich by 2 points for second.  Romney won big with 68%.

So far, there were about 2,100 votes cast in the DC Republican primary versus over 24,000 in the DC Democratic primary.  More than 10:1.

Dems are still playing a bit of havoc in the Rep primary - as much havoc as they could, at least. Santorum is back in the lead in Dane Smiley

A sizable number of the population are descendants of Rhineland Germans, which includes Hessians.

Give it a rest, Phil.  Santorum spent the day in PA and constantly repeated PA themes, including this one.  There is nothing wrong with it.  Santorum needs to win the state that elected him twice, and defeated him once.

Fun fact: Santorum has yet to win a contested primary outside the south. Romney is the national candidate.

Romney's breaking 60% in the populous GOP stronghold of Waukesha with 5% in. That could explain the early projection based on exit polls.

So, J.J., he cites a Hessian loss to appeal to those with Hessian ancestry? I refuse to take you seriously anymore. I think you sit at your computer and laugh hysterically as you type this.

And this PA theme was related to the damn Revolutionary War! He still has a national audience, you know. Ever think that's why he's running with that underdog theme?

Waukesha is doing its reporting style: slow does it. Of course, this being Waukesha, we have no clue how many times they'll update the results to account for missing/misrecorded votes Smiley

Huntsman's at 7.3% in DC with nearly half the precincts reporting. Guess he really was the darling of the Beltway set.

Rick seems to be winning WI-8 pretty handily and that was not one of the two CDs he was supposed to win.

So it would seem. Using the Huckabee vote as a proxy just didn't work for WI-08.

Meanwhile the Dems were busy in Madison - but probably not busy enough to tip WI-02 to Rick. Dem troublemakers seem not to be much in evidence elsewhere in the CD.

No, he doesn't have a national audience; that is the problem.  If he really did, he would have been on his mission to Mars.  Roll Eyes
