Many of the pre-Civil War Presidents, especially Van Buren and Tyler, as well as Warren Harding would be good candidates.  Of that list, Grant or Hayes.

Also, Wormy, why would you like Hayes? If I recall correctly, he got super made in his later years about the gap 'twixt the rich & poor and wanted a bill to limit inheritance to a certain amount and have the government take the rest and distribute it to whomever it pleased. I wouldn't think of you as the type to like him.

I'm more concerned about their actual acts as President than their philosophies.
