Actually, I'm sure Generic Republican would be trouncing Romney in the primaries, if only he had decided to run. I think he's sitting this one out, and hoping for better luck in 2016.

I always thought that Generic Republican likes to fire people and doesn't care for the poor.

Only that car elevator thing throws me off.

Could you guys (Inks, Realisticidealist) please STOP entering "Generic Republican" polls to the database ?

A) There is no "Generic Republican" in the race

B) "Generic Republican" by 5 in this case means "tossup" in reality.

C) We have agreed previously that we only enter Obama vs. Romney polls.

Thx.

'Generic Republican' can mean anyone from Mitt Romney to Rick Santorum for people; it's a useless poll.

I'll repost the essence of the PM I just sent.  Who is "We"?  Dave has previously had no objection  to using Generic polls, and even said he wanted to use my terminology of "Generic Republican" and "Generic Democrat".  So is this a standard that you just came up with, or have you seen something from Dave saying he changed his opinion, because the last time this issue came up between Dave and myself, he was in favor of putting these polls in the database.

Mike Huckabee is Generic Republican. But he won't be the republican nominee, even in a brokered convention Smiley

Generic is more conservative than Romney and less controversial than Santorum.
