Michigan is not 'even' D-R.  This poll would make sense with a 2010 electorate.

MI is in play! 2000 MI went to Gore by 5%. Bush beat Kerry by 2.4% nationally the margin in MI was reduced to +3.4% for the Dem. In 2010 MI turned red big! If Mitt win natinally by 4% he can flip MI. And don`t forget MI is his home state!
But I agree D+1 in wishfull thinking. i think it will be D+5

Odd.

What's this polling firm's track record?

Their final poll in 2008 (Oct 26-28) had Obama leading McCain, 50-38 [won it 57-41], while their final poll in 2004 had Kerry leading Bush, 49-43 [won it 51-48]

Of course, according to exit polls, D-partisan advantage was +12 (41-29) in 2008 compared with +5 (39-34) in 2004

EPIC tends to be more R than other Michigan pollsters.
