Baden-Württemberg because there's a reasonable chance that the people there, at least in the southernmost parts of the state, understand my Swiss German.

Probably Berlin now, but I'd rather not be born there due to having to be born in the GDR or dealing with all those reunification issues. For that either Hamburg or Frankfurt.

They understand Danish in the northernmost part of Schleswig, so Schleswig-Holstein would be the most convenient. Flensburg is a pretty town, but a bit out of the way.
If I where German Id go for Heidelberg in Baden.

I think Baden-Württemberg probably offers the most, and I have a soft spot for Bavaria....but still: Hessian pride!

Im Herzen von Europa liegt ein Frankfurt am Main...

I am thankful that I don't have to live in such a place! Tongue

If I had to, I'd live in Bavaria. Shocking, right?

Yeah you seem to have a problem with nice places to live. Germany, Britain, Netherlands, etc...and prefer places like Pennsylvania and Italy Wink

What's my problem with Britain? I thought I stated how much I liked it when I came back from England (though I wouldn't live there but I wouldn't live in Italy either).

Your political kind (even in more barbaric places like Italy Wink) would be rather lonely, I suppose.

But you're happy to live in the US? In Pennsylvania?  Please explain your reasoning.

I'm referring to the politics part.

Franzl do you consider North Dakota the most desirable US state?

Germany really doesn't pull me in any way, but I suppose Berlin would be tolerable. (On the other hand, certain parts of the city just are completely lost to the most insufferable elements of Europe's trendy scene, and even the idea of their proximity might be just too much. NRW would be a good alternative, I suppose.)
