That's kind of a funny thought if you take their 2008 campaigns against each other into account.

This is beautiful to see- Hillary no longer has to try and compensate for her womanhood by being tough as nails- though she can be. I love to see her let loose like this...if she ever wants a dancing partner she should give this groovy fella a call!!!

I could support Hillary or Cuomo in 2016 (depends on the Republican too). Really.

So how long after she is no longer Secretary of State before she shows up on Dancing with the Stars?

It needs to be remembered these things are relative.

They're certainly capable of nastiness but they don't come across as quite as despicably unreal as a lot of their compadres.

Hillary hasn't changed. It was the same when she was in Puerto Rico in 2008. The woman she's having her photo taken with is Laura Pena who was Hispanic outreach coordinator for her campaign in 2008. She's only more popular now because she's been in a non-political role, and her last major foray into politics was in opposition to the man Republicans now loathe so much. Back in 2008 when it actually mattered, the Republicans swore up and down they'd prefer Obama to Hillary; and if Hillary had won, we'd all be looking back and swearing that Obama could have ushered in an era of post-partisan politics just as he'd promised, but the Democrats screwed up by nominating the polarizing woman with a history.

Obama and Clinton do both come off as extremely personable, but they're hardly the only ones.  Politics is the sort of field where personal charisma is, if not strictly necessary, at least incredibly valuable and regular.  It's pretty rare to find a politician that is not personable IRL, Dick Cheney being a prominent example.

Hell, there are plenty of Republican politicians who are, by all accounts, delightful people to be around.  Every person I know that's met Mike Huckabee, on either side of the aisle, says that he's one of the most amazingly likable people they've ever met.

Indeed.....even Dubya.......most who met him said he was amazingly personable.

Hillary has loosened up a lot since becoming SoS. I'd have a beer with her for sure.

Who cares how "personable" a politician is? That only shows they're good at manipulating people, and doesn't show how "nice" (whatever that means) they are.

Ronald Reagan was the most likeable fella around. That didn't stop him from implementing policies that inflicted incredible amounts of pain and suffering on much of the American population, let alone the truly horrific policies of his administration in Central America.

Seriously though, she does look younger in these pictures. Even accounting for makeup, her face is nowhere near that smooth. Did somebody have a face-lift when we weren't looking?
