If the Republican candidates for President were Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and Mitt Romney, who would you vote for?

Mitt Romney.................................................... 45%
Newt Gingrich ................................................. 35%
Ron Paul ......................................................... 14%
Someone else/Not sure .................................. 6%

PPP surveyed 591 Texas voters from April 19th to 22nd, as well as 400 Republican primary voters. The margin of error for the overall survey is +/-4.0% and for the GOP survey it’s +/-4.9%. This poll was not paid for or authorized by any campaign or political organization.

Romney's lead is probably a bit bigger because Santorum is still on the ballot (?) and he will get 5-10% still (?), taking votes away from Newt.

Well, we have to wait for today's results first to see if people are still voting for Santorum.

Bodes well for Newt's chances in Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Didn't I predict Romney by 10 in TX? Pretty sure I called exactly that. Not too shabby, and my percentages were close too.

I had it 43/33 Romney/Newt. Pretty damn close.

If I was the Obama campaign, I'd toss a few million in anti-Romney ads in Texas to try and help Gingrich.  Romney losing that primary would create a media circus.

With Newt now saying he'll be out soon, Romney will see a bump here.  He'll get high 50s to 60s.

Too bad Newt's going to drop out now. At this point, he might as well stay in until the end. Why the hell not?

He's apparently close to bankruptcy.
