yes, methylphenidate often led me to porn binges (probably because it is an amphetamine)

You shouldn't look at porn, it disrespects women.

I feel like it would be easier to just use amphetamines, given how convenient they are.

I like Monster, Rockstar is ok probably a bit on the sweet side.  Red Bull tastes like liquid sweet tarts candy, overwhelming in large doses.

Why does a Chateau Lafitte Rothschild 1993 taste good?  Why does Peter Paul Almond Joy taste good?  Why does chicken vindaloo and saag paneer taste good?

I'll have to take your word for Red Bull.  I've never had one, or any of those other "energy drinks" for that matter.  It could be a question of personal tastes.  Some folks like sweets, for example, and some don't.  I like extremely acidic foods, and I like a good deal of acidity in the drinks I drink as well.  Olives, mangoes, spaghetti sauce, pickles, limes, etc., are things we eat regularly at my house.  As a result, my son has developed a taste for acidic foods.  Red Bull has something in it that appeals to you, probably because of your upbringing, and the things your parents fed you.

I appreciate angus' Freudian theory of Red Bull taste acqusition.  I'm currently enjoying myself a 16oz diet Red Bull whilst packing a lip of Camel snus: Replacing Alcoholism.

Traditionally, Red Bull has always been my energy drink of choice, but lately (i.e., during this term papers and finals crunch-time) I've been drinking Monster Energy. It doesn't taste quite as good but it's still alright, and it gives me a sort of energy boost that's more amenable to essay writing (Red Bull has a tendency to make me zone out too much, get distracted too easily).

Maybe at a highly competitive high school filled with overachievers. Wink

As for energy drinks, why not just take no-doz? I really don't understand people's aversion to them: they're cheap, easy, avoid teeth staining from coffee + energy drinks and you can always cut them if you don't want a blast of energy.
