Right now, Excedrin Migraine, but I haven't been able to find it in the pharmacy lately, so when I run out of this bottle, I'll probably have to switch to Advil Migraine.

Tylenol is too weak for me.

I have a prescription of Treximet for my most severe and debilitating migraines.

I used to take Metamizole - one of those wonderful drugs banned in the US but which was until recently available in Thailand (and is still in many developing countries).  I think it is still available somewhere here, its just very hard to find now.  Very good pain reliever, with supposedly some slight risk of sudden death (a bonus, really).

In practice I almost always take powdered aspirin, and I certainly won't take tylenol (paracetamol) under any circumstances, as it is bad for your liver.  I do take codein sometimes but only maybe once or twice a year when having a bad cold and really desirous of sleep.

generic asprin  -  It's the cheapest, it works, and I don't need to take it so often that it causes me stomach problems, not that I get stomach problems unless I'm sick.

Aspirin, though if I'm at church or with people from there and let them know they'll lay hands and pray for it to go away.

Has that ever worked?

Yes. I also once was dealing with a chronic backache that went away when I went to church, and didn't come back after praying with one of the prayer team people at the end.

I don't do medicines against headache, and as a result don't do serious headaches.

I'm mostly trolling, but I never really used any medicines for anything and never felt much need either.

Perhaps they're Luddites - there are many who scoff at the simple wonders of modern medicine (which are not, to my mind, heart surgery or suchlike complicated thing, but just simple good old aspirin, anti-biotics, etc.)

I do agree however that I hardly ever feel bad enough that I really must take medicine, but why not take it even if you have just a slight discomfort?  Powdered aspirin doesn't even upset your stomach.

This reminds me of an argument I have with people here sometimes - I tell them 'I don't really drink plain water'.  If I get very overheated and sweaty, I drink Gatorade or put electrolyte powder in bottled water and drink that.  A lot of foreigners will say 'oh that's not natural, water is natural', etc - these are the same sickos who eschew air-conditioning, saying it is 'unnatural' or gives them head-colds or sore throats.  I say nature leads to discomfort, illness, and death.  Only pharmaceuticals and additives - not to mention things like air-conditioning and motorized transport - can allow us to live a little while upon this earth in comfort.

That IS good.  But better yet try DC Powdered Aspirin with caffeine.  The powder is so easy on the tummy, drunk down with Coca-Cola, and you don't get the awful paracetemol (tylenol) whichis in Excedrin.

I try to save Excedrin for migraines because the caffeine is so good and at this point I don't even really take much other than maybe a few ibuprofen and a joint for a regular headache. Which is extremely effective for the record. And I hate Percocets and other more intense pain killers, so that's out.

Seriously you should try this powdered aspirin with caffeine (sorry its not DC Powdered Aspirin its BC Powdered Aspirin):
