I would oppose the amendment, but I am still mixed on gay marriage. Its the states right to decide the issue, none the less.
Because human rights should depend on where you live.
I would vote against Amendment One because I believe that all people are created equal and are entitled to equal protection of the law. Amendment One (and all attempts to ban same-sex marriage) fundamentally conflict with American values.
I agree-a ban does conflict with American values. American values come from the Constitution. Where in the Constitution does the Federal government regulate homosexual marriage? Nowhere? Well, then its the states decisions. Its the people of North Carolinas choice, not mine, nor anyone in DC.
