In the coming days I have some Amendments to introduce; for example, I intend to increase the funding given to the Department of Energy for research.  There is also some revenue stuff I wish to deal with, so stay tuned.

Frankly, it was just shifting stuff, not intentional.  I'll happily revise the Amendment if people do desire.

You won't give an explanation?  What is objectionable about increasing funding to help veterans when they are done with combat?

I don't understand what you mean.

Better idea would be to have no veterans and no combat.

My Amendment is focused on those who have already served, not future service.

Napoleon, there's no need for you to attack me in the way that you are.  It's also worth noting you aren't attacking the DoEA, which supported my Amendment, or any other Senator that has voted for them - only I am attacked.

I am working with Shua on some revenue Amendments, and if need be I accept Seatown's two Amendments as friendly.

It's worth noting that the DoEA and other Senators aren't proposing amendments without offering any explanations and then demanding explanations from others.

Napoleon, nobody has asked for an explanation.  I can certainly answer any questions you might have.

Ill wait for someone else to answer questions I have already asked. Thanks though I guess.

If so, please don't attack me for refusing to explain myself Smiley

I am simply pointing out hypocrisy when I see it.

It's not really hypocrisy when I offer to answer the question; explanations should only be expected when actually asked.

Friendly on 49:22, unfriendly on 49:21 and 49:23.

I've got a tax Amendment dealing with corporate rates and income which will add at least $50B, so if we could please hold off on income and corporate rates until then, it'd be much appreciated.

Here's my Amendment related to income and corporate taxes, resulting in a net increase of $35.5B from the original.

$44.5 B actually. ( of course, those numbers are just estimates)

Even better Cheesy

And Frodo, I'd argue not much higher than the 64% we're at now.  The historic peacetime high was 79% in 1936, and that was for people making $80.7M.

Aye on Seatown's gas Amendment.

No. I'm not going to support raising a rate already at 60%, or making the top corporate rate 44% (!). That's too much of other peoples' money right there.

Yes, but it's 44% on corporations making at least $15M, a significant amount.  Those who can pay more, should.  We're reducing rates on those who cannot afford to pay, while upping them on those who can.  That's simple fairness, and it makes economic sense, as we're making more now than we did under the original rates.

Hmm?  If I can get numbers from Shua I can revise the Amendment, and I'm also looking into some spending cuts.

TJ, does that spending include the new figures from various amendments?
