For the history books, this was the last infraction that broke the camel's back:

I don't see what's infractable there, but such things have come to be expected around here...

..if this is really it, which I find very hard to believe (jmf being one of the select few members who was here when I got here and remains(ed?)), I suppose it is time for that certain Green Day song.

I don't either really, but as the camel back breaking post discloses, planning on only trimming your sails when you pass 95 death points, is sort of like that Italian boat captain who liked to take his cruise ship close in to the harbor to show off to whomever he planned to bed that night. Except here, it seems per jmfcst's fond farewell notes, that in his case, it was done rather deliberately. We have quite an array of posters on the books now who chose to leave not with a whimper, but with a bang.

I do regret that I apparently was the unintentional siren who finally seduced him into crossing over the River Styx. I wish I had not made that post. Sad

It was infracted for trolling, due to being a statement of how he planned to skirt and game the system.  It was a minor infraction, but when you're already at 98...

I got multiple opinions on that one, BTW.  It wasn't a unilateral decision.

I really don't see why this is a bad thing.

This ordeal leaves me somewhat bewildered at what things are infractable and what aren't. I guess defining "trolling" is sort of like defining "obscenity". We know it when we see it.

Well that's unfortunate.  Sad

I have always rather liked him.

With any luck, will Opebo be next?

Anyone that "mourns" him and at the same time reported him at any point in the past is a douchebag of the highest order.

I don't think I ever reported him, and even if I did it's irrelevant because I became a changed person through the power of Christ during his first banning and quite reporting people out of spite and started lobbying for the unbanning of Einzige and Libertas.
Of course you'll say it's irrelevant, you were the one being a douchebag (if you did report him).  You were a douchebag when you were reporting people out of spite and political differences, just like anybody else that does that.  It's good that you've asked Christ for forgiveness and that you've changed, it still doesn't change the fact that you did it.  Just like opebo is still a douchebag for reporting people and then bitching about the reporting system (assuming he still does that).  It's bad to report people out spite/political differences, it's several orders of magnitude worse to do it and then bitch about the system you're abusing.

dead0man look, of course I've sinned. Just as you've sinned. jmfcst has sinned. All the mods have sinned.

The difference is that I will not pretend that I am any better than others like you are.
But I am better than you, at least on this topic.  I've never reported him or anybody.  I'm no narc.

The fact that you are even comparing the two doesn't shine a good light on your faith, but whatever.

As I said, I never spat on or mocked him (by reporting his posts).  My conscious is very clean on the subject.

(and by the way, you're getting really close to self parody here)

You are spitting on him and mocking him right now. It is good you never reported him, but you are still celebrating his banning.

And there is absolutely nothing even remotely offensive about that last post of his.

Wow, now I'll have to carry on the Christian mantra.  That's a scary proposition!

Oh God...

Save us, jmfcst. You're our only hope.

Who is going to be the brick wall I argue with now? Tongue

Anyways, hardly surprising. When you try to be just enough of a troll not to get banned then inevitably you'll slip up at some point and get banned.

Not at all, I honestly don't care one iota either way if he got banned or not*.  I'm making fun of those that think this is comparable to Christ dying on the cross for your sins.

*and to be super honest, if the biggest issue Dave has is making sure the site is acceptable in middle schools and the like, banning Rev Jim isn't going to change things a bit

It is time to state the obvious: jm was in the closet (as a Santorum fan).

And even more obvious: he'll return.

He was entertaining, but I don't really care. Though it's amazingly difficult to understand conversations with so many R-TX avatars floating around.

You remember that scene in Spartacus don't you, where the real one stood up when the Romans asked who was Spartacus, and as he stood up, the men on either side did too, and said "I'm Spartacus" in unison with Kirk Douglas, and then his entire company stood up and did the same thing. Here of course, we have more than one company in residence. Smiley

He'll be back.

The real tragedy here is that we now have 0 members bathed in prayer to try and knock sense into Bushie.
