Didn't Goode qualify in VA? I heard he got 20,000 signatures.

They need to be validated by the pro-GOP Virginia Board of Elections though. Maybe they are throwing out many signatures because they are "fake" ... But throwing out 60% of all collected signatures might be a stretch, even for the pro-GOP Virginia Board of Elections.

Johnson's on the ballot in Oklahoma now! Many thanks to the "zombified corpse of Americans Elect". The LP is still suing so he's Gary Johnson (Libertarian) and not Gary Johnson (Americans Elect), but he's on.

That's amazing, considering how Oklahoma has some of the worst ballot access laws.

Also: ha, I used to be one of Independent Political Report's reporters.

Johnson is on the ballot in every state except in MI, PA and OK.

But the Libertarian Party is still in tough court fights in those states and has won a partial victory in PA yesterday:

The MI and OK situations are more complicated and restrictive.

BTW:

A judge in MI will rule on Sept. 18 if a "Gary E. Johnson from Texas" will be put on the MI ballot as an alternative to the real Gary Johnson, who was not allowed to be on the ballot in MI because of the state's "sore loser law", which states that a candidate who already ran in the primary election under another party's name (REP for Johnson) cannot run as a candidate in the general election (LIB for Johnson).

But why from Texas?

Because the "Replacement Gary E. Johnson" lives in Austin, Texas.

Ahh, drat. Pity Goode isn't actually going to be listed on the ballot here. At least he's still write-in!

Only Goode, Johnson, and Stein made the ballot here of the third parties.  South Carolina has no provision for write-in votes in the Presidential election.  However, there are several ballot-qualified parties that did not run anyone in the Presidential race that in theory could have put someone like Rocky Anderson on the ballot if they chose, but I guess they either were not approached or did not like anyone who approached them.

I find that this page at The Green Papers is very useful:  http://www.thegreenpapers.com/G12/President-Details.phtml.  It is updated every day.

Update:

Gary Johnson is now on the ballot in 48 states + DC.

Only MI and OK have refused to put him on the ballot (he has finally won the battle in PA).

How did Jill Stein not manage to get on the ballot in Vermont?

How did Jill Stein not manage to get on the ballot in Vermont?

Probably for the same reason that Cobb was not on the Vermont ballot in 2004 and McKinney was not on the ballot in 2008.  There never was a Green Party on the ballot there and Nader sucked up the energy that might have been used to get one there in the past, and Rocky Anderson was the darling of the far left's attention this year.  It does seem odd.

I still don't understand why Rocky Anderson is doing what he's doing - it seems like he's just re-inventing the wheel.
