Good evening and welcome to the Frank W. Burr Plaza Ballroom in Teaneck, NJ for the Northeast Gubernatorial debate between Averroës Nix and Jerseyrules. As agreed to by the candidates, the debate format will begin with each candidate making an open statement, followed by pre-submitted questions, and finally, we will take questions from the audience.

Without further ado, we will begin! It is now time for the candidates to make their opening statements.

Some really great responses from Jerseyrules. This should make the election a little closer.

I am fully against gun control.  Respect hunters' rights, etc., though obviously its not necessary to hunt with an automatic nuclear rocket launcher.  Allow local governments to take the initiative, particularly on the case-by-case level

Atlasia doesn't have mayoral elections though, and the stupid charter says 21 or older.

To be the mayor (or city councilman).

What the Attorney General did was a dispickable violation of states' rights.  The IDS was fully lawful in their actions and were in full compliance with federal law.

Current legal precedence and federal law are in full agreement with the right of regions to issue their own currency.  Sending in federal troops as a solution to that problem - or any other legal matter - is barbaric.  If the Attorney General felt that the IDS' actions were illegal, then he should have decided it in a court of law.  Though his title includes "general", "attorney" comes first, and he should remember that next time; he is not a military officer, but an expert of the law and the courts, and with all his expertise, he should know it is not in his right to do what he did, and that the IDS is in compliance with federal and constitutional law.
