http://www.cleveland.com/politics/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/cuyahoga/1105957870247212.xml

A investigative report from the Cleveland Plain Dealer reveals the cause of the long lines in Cuyahoga County.
No conspiracy, the voting machines were distributed equally to city and suburbs, one machine per 117 registered voters.  But the poll workers were poorly trained to handle the turnout (poorly trained by the local Democratic Election board)
No voter suppression by misallocating voting machines: there were more votes cast per machine in the suburbs than the city.  Apparently the urban Democratic voters were so ignorant of what to do, and incompetent in actually voting, they took longer to vote causing the long lines.

I wonder if Ohio had been allowed to use the faster electronic machines, would Kerry have gotten more votes?
Maybe the protests to stop electronic voting was really a Carl Rove ploy?

Urban voters tend to be less educated and more Democratic. Snore.

ROTFLMAO!!!

This is by far the funniest thing I have seen all day.   Sad, yet utterly amusing.

......and hence they caused the line to back up.  Ever been behind someone at the grocery store on food stamps?  You don't want to be, trust me.

Alcon, that is classist and borderline racist.  Yes, I just said it.

The article states that the problems were poll workers in the precincts and timing.  It wasn't the voters that were "less educated" that were the cause.

In my precinct, which is exceptionally Democratic and not particulary well educated, we had long lines at 7:00 AM when the polls opened.  This wasn't due to uneducated voters; it was due to a lot of people showing up at the same time.  Sorry, but people do not vote by appointment.

When I voted at 2:15 PM, my wait time was zero.  Simply put, not a lot of people showed up a 2:15; the gent who came in when I was signing in didn't have a wait either.  From what I heard from friends in better educated, Republican voting districts, there was a similar situation.  Education, intelligence, political party have nothing to do with this.
