The party's biggest donor will not donate anything to legislative candidates this year

Presumably because he's upset at the failure to get a "right to work" amendment on the ballot.

For something as small as state legislative races, this might not seem too devastating normally, but consider this is the party that is so broke and debt-ridden they got evicted from their HQ for failing to pay the rent for several months. Any financial blows are going to hurt big time.
