It's better than the current system especially since if read as "a tax" it's a backdoor to single-payer.

No, he's just not willing to exert the Supreme Court's power so far as to throw out a major legislative initiative where the precedent was clear. Most of the time he's a solid conservative.

Well there's this and the Arizona law.

So Obama care is realy just another big Democratic tax after all, I hope Romney will make that clear and run against it

This also makes it easy for the House to vote for repeal agian

Yes Romney is going to run against the same thing he passed in Massachusetts.

I don't doubt he will. He doesn't place much value on being consistent.

Of course not, but it's a good retort.

The only good news for Romney is that he can campaign against the mandate acting as a tax.

At which point Obama can point out that this is exactly how it works in Massachusetts.

To which he would reply: I didn't raise taxes in the middle of the worst recession in recent history.

The recession ended in June 2009. Obama signed the bill in March 2010.

The recession hasn't ended!!!

In what fiscal quarter since 2009 has the US had negative GDP growth?

5 of the justices voted that the Commerce Clause doesn't allow for such things.

Well, trying to justify this w/ commerce clause, when tax authority was more then sufficient was pretty assinine to begin with.

Yeah Roberts just used the same argument a lot of non-lawyer message board nerds were using.
