Safe bet: It will be a 5-4 decision.

I don't see how the bill being thrown out would lead to anything other then a freefall in Obama's approvals... his signature achievement thrown out would be the theme kicking off every nightly news across America

Well, it would be rightly seen as the fault of the Supreme Court. Even those who oppose the law admit that it being thrown out was highly unlikely in early 2010. No one could have been expected to foresee such activism. But yeah the negative news coverage would probably hurt his ratings.

You seem to be misinformed. It's not activism if Republicans do it.

Its obvious that that Justice Roberts didn't want to be remembered as Justice Taney of the 21 Century.

He is Taney now. We needed him to be John Jay and strike this unconstuitional piece of dogcrap.

Is John Roberts now an advocate of judicial activism?

So Obama care is realy just another big Democratic tax after all, I hope Romney will make that clear and run against it

This also makes it easy for the House to vote for repeal agian

Yes Romney is going to run against the same thing he passed in Massachusetts.

I don't doubt he will. He doesn't place much value on being consistent.

Raising taxes (and especially, raising them to realistic levels) is a very good thing in the United States.

Tell it to Walter Mondale.  Wink

He knew it himself. Good policy doesn't necessarily allow you to win elections, of course.

The only good news for Romney is that he can campaign against the mandate acting as a tax.

At which point Obama can point out that this is exactly how it works in Massachusetts.

To which he would reply: I didn't raise taxes in the middle of the worst recession in recent history.

The recession ended in June 2009. Obama signed the bill in March 2010.

The recession hasn't ended!!!

In what fiscal quarter since 2009 has the US had negative GDP growth?

The recession continues as long as a Democrat is President, silly.
