Couldn't find any Swedish language news sources on this, so I dunno how big an issue it is. But, as I understand it, tourists are essentially shafted, being the only group in Sweden required to pay for emergency healthcare as they receive it Tongue

There has been a lot of angry debate within the right-wing circles that I'm in touch with. One of the best known Swedish libertarian writers made a stand in favour of this and many others on the right criticized it. It turned a bit emotional for a while.

Very good. I guess that Sweden is one of the last countries left with a sound right-wing.

I don't see why. These people have broken the law, so why should they benefit from the state's largesse?

Oh dear Sweden. The fact this is happening under a supposedly centre-right government makes it even worse.

If you were a paramedic, would you deny treatment to a stabbing victim solely because of they were in the country illegally?

I don't think anyone would do that, because A) you would lose your job, B) in many countries you would be charged with a crime and C) you don't ask a stabbing victim first if she/she is in the country illegally, but help first.
