How does healthcare work in Poland? Does the government pay? A night in the hospital here in the US would cost thousands of dollars.

Like in most (or all) EU countries, there is usually socialized medicine, meaning that the society pays for your medical problems.

PS: I hope you are alright, Kalwejt. Sry for your bike though.

Blonde Polish girl learns how to drive.

Good to hear you weren't seriously injured.

But I disagree with what you said in general about hospital food. When I had to stay in hospital for a week a couple of years ago, I had really tasty meals every day. Well, I had to share my room with three old men, two of whom suffered from dementia and told me the same stories several times a day, but the fact that I could choose from two main courses for dinner made up for it. In fact, I had put on two kilos when I left hospital.

That's true.

The last time I was in a hospital for a few days, which was around the age of 15 - the food was quite good. They have meals like in regular restaurants in Austrian hospitals.
