If either of them lose, I'd be pretty surprised. Don't forget their political surrounding is still pretty conservative and polls have them doing pretty well.

More competitive. It dropped from 8.8% Pub PVI to 4.7% Pub PVI. So still strong Pub, but within reach for a centrist non confrontational low key Dem running against a kook.  However as you know, the zone is still very socially conservative, and kind of backward actually, and so he is not in as much danger as he would be in a more cosmopolitan zone with these PVI numbers. He mostly needs to make sure that he keeps the agricultural welfare queens happy, and jettison fiscal discipline when it comes to them. Crack down on welfare for the poor, but not absentee landlord farmers like well Torie - that is the ticket.

I wonder how "strong" King and Akin would be after spending some time locked up with guys in prison.  It would give them some time to contemplate the concept of "forcible rape."
