Governor Scott/TNF: 355 EV, 52% PV
Jerry/Goldwater: 183 EV, 47% PV

Scott's the only one with executive experience, so he wins. Jerry's libertarian leanings give him NH, while homestage effects make WA and KY really close, though both end up going for the Dems.

Governor Clinton1996 (D-GA)/Rep. TNF (D-KY) (Democratic) - 289 EVs
Senator Goldwater (R-WA)/Governor Spenstar3D (D-NY) (Republican) - 249 EVs

A combination of low conservative turnout, home state advantages, and ideological differences realign the map, as the moderate Republican unity ticket improves on past party performance in the West and the Northeast and the Democratic ticket improves on its performance in the South.

Goldwater (R-WA)/Clinton1996 (D-GA) 297 Electoral votes (Republican Party)

Scott (D-CT)/Spenstar (D-NY) (Democratic Party) 241 Electoral votes

The Goldwater/Clinton 1996 ticket gets support from the Libertarian leaning mountain states (because of Goldwater) and the south (because of Clinton96).

Edit: I should have used the 50% shading in Washington.

Gov. Goldwater (R-WA)/Gov. Matt from VT (R-VT) (Republican)- 377
Senator Scott (D-CT)/Congressman Averroes Nix (I-NY) (Democratic)- 161

In the Republican primaries, Gov. Goldwater (Washington) wins the nomination by uniting the moderate and libertarian wings of the party, and chooses Gov. Matt (Vermont) as his running mate to burnish his libertarian credentials while solidifying the conservative base.  On the Democratic side, Senator Scott (Connecticut) easily wins the Democratic nomination due to strong support with both liberals and moderates.  He offers the VP slot to Independent Congressman Averroes Nix (New York), who accepts.  With the Republican ticket more moderate and with some libertarian leanings, and the Democratic ticket having two more moderate Northeasterners, the race quickly becomes an exciting contest, opening up many states on both sides that would otherwise have been off-limits.  In the last few days of the campaign, however, Goldwater makes enough inroads with moderates, alongside his enthusiastic libertarian support, to pull out victories in many close states, including several swing states (NH, MI, WI, IA, and FL), thus giving him a comfortable (though not landslide) victory in the Electoral College.

In a bizarre election cycle, Michigan Gov. Oldiesfreak (R) outmaneuvers rivals Gov. Matt of Vermont and Gov. Goldwater of Washington, becoming the first black Republican to win the party's nomination. Oldiesfreak chooses as his running-mate Gov. Matt, reflecting a nasty primary campaign between himself and Gov. Goldwater, whom he attacked as an "anti-civil rights libertarian" throughout the campaign, calling him unelectable.

On the Democratic side, Sen. Nix of New York won the Democratic nomination, and then, sensing an opportunity when he saw one, selected Republican Gov. Goldwater as his running-mate. Goldwater's joining of the ticket required Sen. Nix to declare himself as an independent in order to assure his cooperation, but in the end, the Democratic Party supported Nix rather than field a candidate of their own against a conservative Michigan Governor and his conservative-leaning running-mate.

In the end, the Nix-Goldwater ticket beat Oldies-Matt in a landslide, reflecting some off the cuff marks about Southerners that bolted Dixie into the Independent/Democratic camp. With 55% of the popular vote, a solid Democratic majority in both the House and in the Senate, and 468 electoral votes to the Republicans' 70, Senator Nix became President Nix on January 20, 2017.

2020 had been a particularly divisive year for the GOP. After the field was cleared for the most part following Iowa and New Hampshire, the only two remaining were Governor "Goldy" Water of Washington and Senator Ollie S. Freake Freak of Michigan. The moderates and hawks in the GOP suffered a decisive defeat in 2016 when Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky won the GOP nomination. Paul however would go on to lose narrowly to the Democratic ticket of Hillary Clinton and Louisville Mayor Tee N. Eff. Though Hillary's administration was relatively popular at first, in 2018 Hillary resigned after being caught having an affair with a 19 year old intern. Vice President Eff was considered by many to be too far to the left by many, yet at the same time excited the leftwing base of the party.

By the 2020 primaries and caucuses Sen. Freake was the last hope of the moderate wing of the GOP. The hawks were slightly more comfortable with Water than they had been with Paul, but they on average decided to break towards Freake. Winning by a fluke in Iowa, Freake was able to win over 30% nationwide in the primaries and carried 12 states.

Blue - Gov. Water
Green - Sen. Freake

On the Democratic side everyone worried that President Eff's call for a new socialist society was going too far. To quell their concerns, President Eff decided to offer Sen. Freake to be his running mate, hoping the public would see the Democratic ticket as more appealing. Governor Water chose Congressman S.S. Venue of Tennessee for his running mate. while Dem ticket picked up steam after the convention, the anti-southern gaffes of Sen. Freake proved deadly. Over the last 22 years the Democratic party had been slowly working to retake the south, embracing changing demographics. The coastal south had been moving left since 2008 and against a lessor candidate Clinton would have possibly made a clean sweep of the southeast coastal states. TNF being from Kentucky, and his running mate being African American, there had been hopes of continuing the trend, however once the gaffes started rolling, the southerns started walking away in droves.

By election day the race was a toss up, and expected to go on into the late night. At 2:37am, CST, the race was finally called.....

Governor "Goldy" Water / Rep. S.S. Venue - 275 EV 48.2%
President Tee N. Eff / Sen. Ollie S. Freake - 263 EV 47.3%
