Senator TNF (D-KY)/ Congressman Oldiesfreak (R-MI) - 52.2%, 308 EV's
Senator Supersonic (R-TN)/Governor James Brase (R-TX) - 46.4%, 230 EV's
Others - 1.4%, 0 EV's

President George H.W. Bush retired after one term, just in time as the economy plundered and the GOP race got especially ugly. Texas Governor James Brase, who defeated Ann Richards in a close race, decided to run on a libertarian platform of cutting loopholes, cutting taxes, and increasing personal freedom. The frontrunner the whole time was Senator Supersonic, a neoconservative with some odd opinions that always put him a little at risk. His original challenger was Wisconsin Populist Senator TJ, but TJ's campaign shuttered down after a narrowly loss in Iowa to Mr. Brase. Congressman Oldiesfreak, a black liberal Republican from a D+8 District in Michigan, ran for the nomination and won Vermont, but ended up the race frustrated with the party and left to run as an independent for a while.

Meanwhile, Senator TNF quietly locked up the nomination. His radical views had establishment Democrats quivering, hoping that Georgia Governor Clinton1996, Connecticut Senator Scott, or Former President Snowguy716 would pick up the pace. None of them did. TNF was quietly aware he could not win without party unity, and he had the bare minimum of delegates against his wide array of challengers. He had to think bold. After long conversations with Oldiesfreak, the Senator was ready for a game changer.

TNF/Oldiesfreak was a legendary ticket. Oldiesfreak managed to win TNF states that would not budge without him: Michigan, Connecticut, and Montana. At that moment in the Democrat convention, TNF surged to a lead of 56-36 against Supersonic/Jbrase. Supersonic would continue chipping away at the Senators lead, continually chipping with good debate performances, strong fundraising numbers, and unity across the Republicans against TNF, but it was not enough. A combination of Oldiesfreak as a VP choice, the NAFTA issue, and public tire of Republicans pushed TNF to a fairly strong victory.

The election has the lowest turnout in years as the Democratic base have trouble rallying around a slate of someone to the left and to the right of the party while the Republicans are outraged that the Republican nominees are too libertarian. All 4 candidates are from states that favor the other political party that they aren't registered in, however, both Presidential nominees, ElectionsGuy and TNF, and VP nominee, Goldwater, are able to carry their home states of Wisconsin, Kentucky and Washington respectively due to their high elasticity and their favorable ratings in the states. Senator Maxwell, while popular in Oklahoma, is too polarized of a state and disapproves of TNF too much to swing in the Democrats favor. Ultimately, the libertarian Republican ticket narrowly picks up the victory over the Odd Couple Democrats.

1952

The Korean War having destroyed the chances of President Harry Truman (D-Mo) for a second term, the Democrats ultimately chose former Senator and former Secretary of State Polnut to head their ticket. His running-mate, North Carolina Governor Scott Sunday, was chosen as a sop to the South.

The Republicans chose anti-communist, interventionist Senator Goldwater of Delaware and Congressman B. "Madman" Motley, and the pair attacked the Democrats for "leading the nation to stalemate and defeat in Korea."

Senator Goldwater of Delaware and Congressman Madman Motley of Indiana (Republican Party): 50.18% (288)
Former Senator and Secretary of State Polnut of Massachusetts and Governor Scott Sunday of North Carolina (Democratic Party): 49.33% (243)

1896

(sorry, forgot to check electoral totals, but Polnut wins)

After the nomination of the Bourbon Democratic Cleveland in 1892, the seizure of the Democratic Party in 1896 by the far-left was a shock. Firebrand Colorado congressman and former coal miner Thomas Newport Faulkner stirred up the convention to nominate him on a platform of low tariffs, anti-imperialism, trust-busting, and support for labor unions. To placate Southern conservatives and the agrarian populists at once, he selected the soft-spoken but piously Christian Scott Sunday of North Carolina. The Republicans, meanwhile, nominated Senator Polaris Nutter of Pennsylvania, who managed to steal some of Faulkner's thunder in the general election by tapping into the progressive wing of the Republican Party while still having strong views on protectionism and imperialism, which were emphasized by his selection of Admiral Harold Goldwater of New York, who had previously been involved in the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893. Faulkner's radicalism led the business establishment to overlook some of Nutter's progressive stances on trusts, and combined with his sway over moderates, allowed him to prevail over Faulkner in one of the most polarizing campaigns in American history.

After a fierce GOP Convention between Governor Angus "Celtic Empire" Robertson of South Carolina and Senator Barry Goldwater III, socons narrowly voted against the loud-mouthed and brash Goldwater for the more complacent "good 'ol boy"

And to add more insult to the injury, Goldwater was snubbed in the pickings for Veep by equivalently progressive, but cool-headed Governor Nathan Bigby of Georgia who was nominated in order to get a Clinton/Gore effect.

Infuriated and wishing to really stick it to the GOP, Goldwater runs as an independent and practically parodying Robertson, picks socialist activist Luke Snowstalker of Pennsylvania as running mate

2004

President Goldwater's controversial handling of the September 11th attacks (and subsequent and seemingly unrelated decision to take the nation to war in North Korea) has proven to be extremely divisive, setting the stage for a polarizing presidential election.

Goldwater, a noted social liberal, has further enraged his own base in saying that he "frankly didn't give a damn," about the recent decision by the Supreme Court of the state of Connecticut to require full legal equality in marriage rights for same-sex couples, and of his refusal to sign off on a late term abortion ban passed by his own Republican Congress. He has attempted to cement his brand of 'Republitarianism' by selecting a fellow libertarian Republican, Governor Bigby of Georgia, as his running-mate this cycle.

Attempting to capitalize upon this, the Democrats have selected their most conservative presidential nominee in recent memory, California Governor MormDem. A social conservative that has proclaimed his intent to sign off on 'any abortion restriction that reaches his desk' and that has likewise been vague on the issue of same-sex marriage, MormDem has taken the unprecedented step of nominating a Republican as his running-mate, Kentucky Senator CelticEmpire. Although CelticEmpire could be described as a 'Republitarian' much like the President, disagreements over foreign policy have ultimately cemented his position on the Democratic ticket, which will prove to make for a very bizarre cycle indeed.

President Goldwater of Washington and Governor Bigby of Georgia (Republican Party): 256
Governor MormDem of California and Senator CelticEmpire of Kentucky (Democratic Party): 282

2016:

After winning over independents and moderates in the democratic primary, Governor MormDem of California picked Representative TNF of Illinois to bring out the base, however, while he did bring out hardcore socialists and laborites, he alienated moderates. Representative Goldwater won by bringing out small l libertarians and furthered his pull with Governor Bigby, and as a result won over liberals and conservatives.

The revelation that Mayor TNF of Chicago is actually a Trotskyist sinks the Democratic ticket. Washington, Oregon, and Minnesota are within 1%.

In the hopes of getting some kind of unity ticket, Governor Goodwin J "MormDem" Knight of California selects  the more economically moderate and fiscally closer independent businessman Morris Yelnoc of Georgia

But Senator Murray Bannerman of Indiana was not going take this lying down and took on activist TNF of the neighboring Illinois.

Governor Goodwin "MormDem" Knight (D-CA)/ Mr. Morris Yelnoc (I-GA): 291 EV, 50.8% PV
Senator Murray Bannerman (R-IN)/ Mr. TNF (G-IL): 247 EV, 48.2% PV

Though party lines are still play, ultimately many socially liberal states decide to give Senator Bannerman the benefit of the doubt, given that his running mate is a Trotskyist.

On the flip side, otherwise conservative states in The South and Utah were not pleased by Bannerman's seemingly "godless" policies, and of course Mr. Yelnoc definitely helped reassure some of the more libertarian west.

2016

Moderate Governor MormDem of California, in an appeal to the left flank selects well known Trotskyist and Mayor of Chicago, TNF. They faced off against Libertarian Senator BMotley and his independent VP pick Governor Yelnoc of Georgia. With the center not liking TNF or Motley, they instead launch a write in campaign for the ticket of MormDem/Yelnoc, which sweeps the nation.

WI: Governor Goodwin "MormDem" Knight (D-CA)/Governor Morris Yelnoc (I-GA): 390 Electoral Votes

Election of 2016: America Decides

Primaries

Governor Goldwater of Washington launches an insurgent bid in early 2015 to push the Republican Party towards a more marketable socially liberal position held by the newer generation. Due to the inability of the socially conservative field to coalesce on single candidate, Gov. Goldwater ekes out just enough delegates to secure the nomination at the convention despite the powerful lobbying of Oklahoma Governor Richard Pryor against him. He chooses Senator Jose Canseco as a running mate, as he meshes ideologically and can help with the key state of Florida.

Meanwhile, the Democrats push for a moderate to clash with the new Libertarian-leaning nominee of the Republicans. After taking a bruising from Elizabeth Warren in the primaries, Governor MormDem of California wins the nomination. The speculation surrounding MormDem's pick for Vice President generally seemed to conclude that he would pick a liberal to united the party, however Gov. MormDem shocks the country by announcing his pick of Gov. Richard Pryor in Atlanta.

General Election

The general election race is filled with many cross-party endorsements of candidates. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, incensed towards Gov. Goldwater for his defeat in the primaries endorses Gov. MormDem. Senator Angus King endorses Gov. Goldwater, saying "We need more maverick FFs in office."

The Goldwater ticket is bruised by revelations surrounding his running mate Sen. Canseco. The New Republic publishes in early October that Sen. Canseco has been using a wide variety of steroids. A video uploaded to Upworthy of him discussing the topic of the Koch Brothers creates much controversy; he states that Charles and David Koch "are fat, ugly, and do not lift like me and are beta males so i do not like them. obama & bush & clinton are beta males aswhell." His huge muscles and general disposition towards the electorate intimidates many voters, however this characteristic is shown to be a positive in New Jersey, with opinion polls showing the that that the guido vote has shifted the state into Goldwater's favor. In a novel later published on the Goldwater campaign called Changing Direction: The 2016 Goldwater Campaign, it is revealed that the Governor had attempted to drop Sen. Canseco from the ticket, but could not find anyone that he found suitable for the office. An insurgent campaign from the Constitution party drains from the usual Republican base.

The even-headed campaign by Governor MormDem and his running mate Governor Richard Pryor benefits from their establishment stances and the implosion of the Goldwater campaign. Gov. MormDem is hurt, however, when in a rally in Frankfort he states that he "would sign off on legislation putting restrictions on abortions."

Goldwater, hampered by his running mate and having his views found to be out of the mainstream is routed by the ticket of MormDem/Pryor. He becomes the first major party nominee since George McGovern in 1972 to lose his home state.

Gov. MormDem (CA)/Gov. Richard Pryor 58% 427 EVs
Gov. Goldwater (WA)/Sen. Canseco 36% 111 EVs
Fmr. Rep. Tancredo (CO)/Chief Justice Roy Moore (AL)  5% 0 EVs
Others 1% 0 EVs
