It seems on the oldies station I've always listened to, it doesn't play anything after Good Vibrations which came out in October 1966.

Granted, they didn't really have any top ten hits after that, but why? I've listened to some of their later work like "Darlin'", "Sail on Sailor" or "Breakaway" and I personally think its a lot better than their earlier stuff like "Surfin Safari" "Surfin USA" "Little Deuce Coupe" et al.

I do realize that their main man Brian was in some kind of exile, but he was still writing their stuff.

I have no idea, but my guess is that America's taste in music was changing.

Beach Boys really weren't that good.  Most of their songs sounded the same.  People got tired of it after awhile.

The beach boys suck.  I always thought everyone felt the same way till I saw some interviews after the beach boys died.  or was it the BeeGees.  Yeah, I think it was the Beegees that died recently.  Anyway, they suck too.  I always get those two confused.  If I think about it long enough I remember that the Beegees are the ones with "oooooh, oooo baby please don't gooooo....  oooooh, oooo babe I just want ya to know...  If you leave me now, you take away the biggest part of me..." Or maybe that's Chicago.  Well, they suck too, even though they don't start with a B.

Anyway, the beach boys have no hits because they suck.

The only one with any real the most talent had a nervous breakdown.

That would be more accurate. They still produced a lot of great stuff though. Check out the Surf's Up record, for example.

To be honest, the Beach Boys never did much for me. That's saying something, considering I am America.

"Good Vibrations" itself was pretty psychedelic.
