Romney has pretty much closed the gap in Virginia. Obama had lead 50-42 in March and 47-42 in June. I think it's in line with the two polls from earlier this week from Rasmussen and Purple Strategies that had Obama up 1 and 2 points respectively. The tie comes almost entirely from Obama falling more than Romney gaining.

Krazen, we both know the Bain attacks are focused in the Rust Belt states, Iowa, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Penmsylvania. And the only reason Republicans are whining is because they know their working.

Useless now without Goode as another definite conservative option in the state.

You continue telling yourself that is true.

Yup.

I have seen some Republicans boast about VA being tie, honestly it really doesn't matter if BO maintains his lead in Ohio and Iowa.

Check out the race gap

Obama's job rating with white:
Approve: 32%
Disapprove: 62%

Obama's job rating w/ blacks:
Approve: 93%
Disapprove: 4% (?!?!)

I don't want to sound cliche, but I honestly do think that if Obama was Caucasian, his job approval among them would be 10 points higher than it is now.

It took Obama's team about one month and about 50 million bucks but he has finally done what the Republican's have tried so hard to do for the last four years - hurt his personable favorability. So I want to thank Stephanie Cutter and Bill Burton and all the rest. We tried very hard and failed every time.  But you didn't, you have done the impossible. So for that, thank you and please keep up the good work.

Not to sound cliche, but I honestly do think that if Obama were white, his job disapproval among blacks would not be 4%. Racism cuts both ways.

I agree also with the above statement. The black community does have a lot of love for this guy.

I do think that identifying with your guy because you're part of the same community, and you rarely get to vote for someone from that community, is different from racism. I would say Jews getting more excited to vote for Lieberman is a different phenomenon from random people getting really excited to vote against Lieberman because he's Jewish.

I believe racism is the wrong word to describe what's happening.

But I do think skin colour is becoming a determining factor where it really shouldn't be.

I'm always a bit worried about Quinnipiac outside of the "News," New England, NY and NJ, but it is consistent with the other polls.

It exists as a factor. Ideally it wouldn't, and on balance it hurts minority candidates much more than it helps, but we're human and we live in a diverse country with a rich and complicated history and that informs how people vote.
