I live in a city of only 9,500 people so there are not many famous people.

retired Candian NHL player Chris Osgood who played for the Red Wings lives in my city.

My small town has sent two people to the U.S. house of Representatives. Although neither was famous or well know even when they were in Congress. Not bad for a city of 9,500.

Only Quebec celebrities.

Perhaps some know Dany Sabourin, which was goalkeeper for Pittsburgh Pinguins.

I resisted mentioning any hockey players from Ottawa, mostly because despite the large amount of them, not many of them would be famous enough to be a highly recognizable name in the US. I suppose the most famous hockey player from Ottawa would be Dennis Potvin.

Oh, briefly Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher owned a house in exurban Ottawa. But he plays for Nashville now, and they finally sold their house last week. I don't think that counts though.

Haha, actually the majority of them do look a lot more 'acceptable' than that.  But yes, their lives are hopeless.

Robin Stjernberg - Singer, represented Sweden in Eurovision this year
Gustav Fridolin - Party leader for the Swedish Greens
Familjen - Another band

Think that's basicly it.

EDIT: Football player Fredrik Ljungberg was born here, but his family moved before he turned five, so I'm not sure he count, as he didn't really grow up here.
