Hey guys.  I've been sort of stressed lately... my guinea pig has been sick three times this year.  To make a long story short, basically we've been finding a lot of blood in her urine and we're hoping that it's a UTI and nothing worse.  Even though this is a pet I am concerned about and not a particular person, I still very much care for her health and I'd definitely appreciate some prayers.  We got her through two other things this year, so we're hoping we can fight this as well.

Thanks.

There's no shame in being concerned for your pet, dude. I hope she gets better and the problem isn't serious.

Thanks again, guys.  Brief update- she got home from the vet a little while ago.  The vet says she has about a 50/50 shot.  Either there is an infection in her bladder or a serious tumor.  We would give her surgery, but we're leaving that option off the table because of her advanced age.  Now we're just going to wait and see if this passes, so we're hoping for the best and making lots of prayers.

EDIT: She is also eating and overall has had a positive attitude during all of this, so we think the odds are somewhat on her side. Smiley

Don't pray but I will be wishing the best for your pet...I know how it feels to lose a pet and Duke does too. It is always hard to see a loved one go before your time so I am hoping for a speedy recovery. Please keep me updated if you find it comfortable for you. Sad

As a former owner of multiple guinea pigs, I know how much these animals can be a source of heartbreak every few years.  I'll be hoping for the best.

Well, it's now been about twenty hours since any more blood was found.  So far, so good. Smiley

Jellybean (my guinea pig) passed away last night.  We got her through three horrific episodes and bought her more time.  She lived a full, happy life.  Thanks again for the prayers and support, guys.

My condolences. Losing a friend, man or beast, is always rough.
