Very true and also quite badass to point out publicly.

Should just endorse Murphy and be done with it.

I guess he'll wait til october with that, though.

This just comes off as bitter, you don't rant against your opponent like this. It doesn't make him come off as respectable.

Were I McMahon I'd just selectively edit this into a campaign ad and make him look unsenatorial.

McMahon doesn't even need that: she's up by a 25-point margin over Shays.

Ouch.

But I do see his point.  Shays has been around for pretty much forever, yet he stands no chance against that kind of money.  This will just further his loss.

Now that I think of it, I've probably only seen one or two Shays ads (several months ago), and ten McMahon ads for every Murphy ad.

He wouldn't perform any better in the GE either because of the PVI wall.

McMahon seems to think so - that politics suits her because it's just another form of violent entertainment, but Shays is saying that shouldn't be all it is.

He would lose but with a smaller margin.

I have no problem with this- but Democrats would be singing a different tune then calling this "badass" if the roles were reversed and one Dem said this about another

I can honestly say it really depends on the Democrats.

Did we need more proof that moderate Republicans are the biggest whiners of all time?

Bachmann is a pretty good rebuttal.

It is sad how the people of Connecticut, especially those in Fairfield County are treating Chris. People like my old Mayor, Dick Moccia. Chris went to a lot of functions, and helped him raise money over and over again so that he could win. Now when Chris needs his help, he turns his back and supports McMahon. A lot of other Republicans are doing this to him. They are backing a candidate who has no chance at all to win. Chris is clearly the only candidate who can win this Senate race. Would he? Probably not.. but you couldn't write it off.

It's just amazing how the Republicans are there now. They are supporting someone who couldn't defeat a damaged candidate in a Republican wave..

I couldn't agree with him more; Linda McMahon is a money dropping thug of the worst variety. That a statesman like Shays is being embarrassed on this level is a small tragedy.

Well, it depends on which specific politicians you're talking about, obviously.

Au contraire - this is an escalation of violence. He's showing her that two can play that game.
