A bit off topic, but I just love how peoples' political views are completely hijacking their perception of the economy. So some of you conservatives call the economy "disastrous" or "a total wreck." Ok, you definitely have evidence to support that, but would you be saying the same thing if a Republican was in office, or are you just spouting this off because it's "Obama's economy"?
For god's sake, we're adding jobs every month. Does anybody remember how many we were losing in 2008-2009?
I think people are blinkered to how deep and wide the effects of the GFC were, the US lost 20% of it's total net worth in a period of less than two years. The utterly simplistic view of many from both parties has set up the current state of affairs. The effects of the GFC reflect how severe a crisis it was and what it cost people but Romney's promises of quick fixes and re-establishing the pre-2009 financial arrangements are a recipe for disaster.
It doesn't matter what things were like in 08-09, all that matters is removing Obama and putting in place someone who wants to continue the economic framework that led to the GFC in the first place.
