Link.

CA-24

Capps (D)- 48%
Maldonado (R)- 46%

CA-47

Lowenthal (D)- 44%
LeLong (R)- 41%

I, myself, could actually live with Maldonado winning.

If the internal shows the person who commissioned it trailing, it's not that strong of a result. Maldonado is way behind in fundraising and has some issues of avoiding taxes, plus Capps is a very strong incumbent. Lowenthal has a strong base of votes in Long Beach, which he's represented for years in the legislature.

So you're fine with Boehner as Speaker of the House for another term?

Both are seats the Dems very much should win and need to win, but also seats with high Republican floors (at least with absent total joke candidates).

The DCCC responded with a poll in CA-47 with Lowenthal up 47-36.

The poll only had 259 LV, so I'm a bit skeptical.

47 is too high a climb. 24 wouldn't be if it was just about any other California Democrat, but as it stands it probably is too.

Well, I don't think the Democrats will retake the House this cycle anyway; I would like to see more moderate Republicans like Maldonado elected though.

The CA-24 poll is by Public Opinion Strategies, a top-flight GOP pollster. Sure, it's an internal, but it's also a really good pollster. I've personally used them before and had them deliver some very grim news.

I haven't heard of the pollster who looked at CA-47.

It'd have been nice if the DCCC would have said just who it commissioned to do that poll. By virtue of that missing information, I'm guessing it was a bargain basement in-house operation without real methodology.
